Why the dates move
Nepali festivals follow the lunar calendar, so they land on a different Gregorian date every year and cannot be worked out in advance by formula. We confirm each year’s dates rather than estimating them, where you see a season instead of a countdown, that year is not yet confirmed.
In Australia most community celebrations move to the nearest Saturday. Order for the gathering, not the calendar date.
